Teacher Parent Session

We went for Geraldine's half year Teacher/Parents session today.
Comments by Teacher Mary:
1) Better social skills, she can speak up for herself but tends to get too chatty in class sometime with her close buddies, Shevelle, Shanna, Kayla and Isabelle. The girls will do everything together be it drawing or going to the wash room.
2) Strong and neat writing skills. Usually she do not need to erase what she had written while some of her friends will be busy correcting their works.
3) Strong decoding and reading skills....phonics lesson in school is definitely helping.
4) She is good in her addition but as subtraction was just introduced 2 weeks ago, she is still confused...so Daddy and Mummy will need to guide Geraldine along.

Comments by Chinese Teacher:
1) Very quiet and soft spoken (very different compared to her chatty self in English class)
2) Her chinese has improved and Teacher says she does her own worksheet now while previously she just copied from her friends.
3) While doing her work, Teacher cannot rush her, will need to let Geraldine sit quietly by herself to complete her work. If Teacher sits next to her she will get stressed out easily and lost her concentration.
4) She can understand better what her Chinese Teacher is saying but she is still weak in her Chinese. Daddy and Mummy's fault again coz we keep talking to her in Mandarin. We have to make an effort to talk to her more in Mandarin and also try to do more exercises with her. They will be doing spelling next week, so it is time for mummy to be pay more attention to her school work.
