Cambridge Family Day at Marina Bay Sands - Amazing race

 We went for Geraldine's school Family day at Marina Bay Sands. This year will be Amazing race.

 Geraldine with her best friend Kayla. Don't know why both gals have to be so shy when they can chat non stop everyday in school.

 One of the requirement of the race, to take pic of the Shop name with the worker in uniform.

Geraldine was complaining she had to walk so long without taking a rest. So we decide no point to continue with the race since she is tired and decide to bring her to Citi Square for Barbie Makeover session.

 

She chose the purple dress same as the one Barbie wore in Princess Charm school...glad she had fun with the makeover!

Build a Bear

Ryan loves the train display at Isetan...always hanging around there when every we bring Geraldine for ballet school.

 Bought Geraldine to Build a Bear....here she is giving her bear a nice scrub!

She named her bear Ashely... coz she really likes her Ashley Jie Jie

Spellings

Started Geraldine on numbers spelling and so far so good. She can spell from number One to Twenty now....so we are moving forward to Thirty.....and hopefully Hundred pretty soon.

2nd CMA class

Geraldine went for her 2nd CMA class and Teacher Maggie's comment: 'She is very good in her work. She says Geraldine seems more like a 5years old rather than just 4 1/2'. We are so glad she like her class, and like what her school Teacher says as long as she likes what she is doing, she always gives 100% attention + concentration and make sure she get it done well. Keep up the good work Geraldine!

Just having fun

First CMA class

We signed up Geraldine for CMA Mental Arithmetic - Kinder program and today is her first lesson. Teacher Maggie says she did very well and she is always the first one to put up her hands when Teacher Maggie asks a question. Teacher Maggie commented Geraldine plays attention in class and diligently follow her teaching during lesson. We hope with this class it will build up strong mathematics skills and also build her self esteem too. So far Geraldine enjoy her lesson and is looking forward to the next one... and the nice thing is Zenith join in for the class too...

Teacher Parent Session

We went for Geraldine's half year Teacher/Parents session today.
Comments by Teacher Mary:
1) Better social skills, she can speak up for herself but tends to get too chatty in class sometime with her close buddies, Shevelle, Shanna, Kayla and Isabelle. The girls will do everything together be it drawing or going to the wash room.
2) Strong and neat writing skills. Usually she do not need to erase what she had written while some of her friends will be busy correcting their works.
3) Strong decoding and reading skills....phonics lesson in school is definitely helping.
4) She is good in her addition but as subtraction was just introduced 2 weeks ago, she is still confused...so Daddy and Mummy will need to guide Geraldine along.

Comments by Chinese Teacher:
1) Very quiet and soft spoken (very different compared to her chatty self in English class)
2) Her chinese has improved and Teacher says she does her own worksheet now while previously she just copied from her friends.
3) While doing her work, Teacher cannot rush her, will need to let Geraldine sit quietly by herself to complete her work. If Teacher sits next to her she will get stressed out easily and lost her concentration.
4) She can understand better what her Chinese Teacher is saying but she is still weak in her Chinese. Daddy and Mummy's fault again coz we keep talking to her in Mandarin. We have to make an effort to talk to her more in Mandarin and also try to do more exercises with her. They will be doing spelling next week, so it is time for mummy to be pay more attention to her school work.
