Ryan and his Phonics

While playing on the bed today with block and alphabets, he picks up the letter 'H' and start making the phonics sound 'ha...ha...ha' for 'H' running around the bed. Then he picks up 'W' and starting saying 'wat wat wat'. My little boy sure is picking up good educational stuff from the Net.

Jacob Ballas Garden

 Cool tree house with long slides.
 Nice pool with lilies too bad they are not blooming.

Big round fruit, forgot to take down the name

 Ryan very cautious about the water play. Only willing to let his feet get wet.
 Geraldine all out to get wet!
 Finally got Ryan to get fully wet!! It takes him a while to get used to it.
Both kids definitely had fun! Nice place for the kids, will try to bring them here more often for outdoor activities and breathe in some fresh air.

Ryan trying out boiled veggie

Boiled veggies are Geraldine's favourite, we thought to let Ryan try it out and surprising he likes the taste of it. Hope he eats more of the greens....he is really picky about what he puts in his mouth.

The school started the K1 children on spelling since 7th June and since then they have spelling test every Monday. So far Geraldine has been getting all full marks for her spelling. Well done Geraldine!

2nd batch spelling list:
bat, pen, fin, log, bus, in it & we
3rd batch spelling list:
cat, web, lid, dot, cub, is, my & me
4th batch spelling list:
hat, vet, pin, pop, rug, not, for & to

Ryan's 'C' and 'G'.

While waiting for Geraldine to end her Abacas session yesterday, just for fun I ask Ryan to point out the letter 'C' from words on the school wall 'Creating great minds from Arithmetic'. To my surprised, he actually points out 'C' correctly. I thought it might just be a lucky guess on his side, so I ask him to point out 'G' and again he got it right! So I thought I will try 'C' again and without hesitation, he points out correctly. I'm really impressed! We didn't teach him any flashcards, he just happen to enjoy watching the ABC songs these few days on utube and is picking it up all by himself. Watching educational clips really works...what they watch really do register in their mind.

Ozone

The little Ozone at Orchid Country Club is not so entertaining now. The stations that the kids can play are getting limited now. Ryan trying out the slide...he is same like Geraldine when she was younger, very cautious in new things he tries out.

18 months ++

Ryan's progress at 18 months ++:
1) He can say simple words like 'Pain, let's go, go, car, apple, wait, almost getting there with 'open'  and his favourite 'No no no' shaking his finger at us. So cute haha he learn his no no no from Mummy :-p
2) Still doesn't like his fruits but drinks plenty of water.
3) He doesn't have good sleeping habits. Keeps waking up in the middle of the night crying to go upstairs or come into our room to play. Sometimes, Siti has to play with him for 2 to 3 hrs before he went back to sleep! Poor Siti and lucky us to have her!
4) He can climb up the stairs, getting on the sofa and getting off the bed by himself now
5) He is under weight at only 10kg, he don't really eat much or snacks much...prefer to drink milk more at this stage.
6) Ever since the last week he got fever, his appetite has been poor. He doesn't wants his porridge and only eats plain rice. He doesn't want pasta, macaroni, rejecting fish, pork, eggs and veggies. We finally got lucky with grilled salmon that he eats a little bit more...poor darling getting skinnier everyday!

Father's Day craft

Geraldine drew a really nice colourful picture of Daddy and the paper weight that the Teacher guide them to make. The paper weight smells like bread.
