Ryan's fever - Day 4

Ryan's fever went up to 39.9 at 5.20am. Immediately, I started to sponge him and quickly he was given the bullet. Dr Chan came at 8am and advise we put him on drip with antibotics at the same time do another blood test to be safe and see if there has been any changes. Here is Ryan feeling better and more energetic later in the AM since his milk intake has increased compared to the last few days when he was just drinking 60~90ml per feed.

Mummy brought his favorite DVDs today and he is watch his favorite show 'Word World'.

Almost time for baby's drip....poor baby Poor Baby cried so hard and we were kept out of the door as the Dr and nurses do the procedures for him. The fever still hoovers around 38+++ with the drip and at night the fever goes down to below 38. Hopefully, that is a good sign.

Ryan's fever - Day 3

Ryan's fever went down last night to 37.6 and Dr Chan advise we can bring him home in the evening if it keeps below 38. However, shortly before lunch, it shoot up to 39.9 again!! Doc say will need to give him antibotics drip but we decided against it and she suggested doing it with injection at the thigh. Poor baby cried so hard while having the injection! I wish i can take his place, he is so young and need to go through all this pain. My poor boy...and he got us all worried in the evening when he suddenly turned cold and doesn't seems to response well to us when his fever went up.Luckily, after a while he was able to focus and starts to be more active. Jia You Ryan! My strong boy, you can fight this virus!

Ryan's fever - Day 2

Ryan's fever stayed high throughout last night and also in the day. Dr Chan advised the urine test and blood test seems fine and he doesn't have any ear or throat infection so likely it's a virus attack that is causing the spike in high fever. Luckily, we managed to change to single delux room today and got the whole room for ourself so Ryan got more space and will feel more comfortable. The little boy that we shared room with last night had been pretty noisy and cranky, thus disturbing Ryan the whole night. Hope Ryan will get better and we can bring our little baby home tomorrow.

I left for work early today as there are much to do with training and implementation thus did not get to carry Ryan before I left.
Daddy called around 8am and says Ryan is running a fever. Daddy brought him to the clinic in the afternoon and his fever shot up to 40.2 degree. At around 9pm, I fed him the Burofen and shortly after, Siti carried him up to me saying Ryan don't look too well. I carried him and he was turning cold and shivery. Suddenly, my little baby starts foaming in his mouth...and he went into a fit! I quickly put my finger in his mouth to prevent him from biting himself. Everyone start rushing to grab the keys and wallet and mad dash out to the car for Mt Alvenia hospital. In the car, Ryan was quickly losing conscious. I keep calling his name and moved my finger in his mouth to feel his response to keep him with me. Luckily, Mt A is near only 7mins drive. By the time we reached, Ryan had turned really cold and his temp has hit 39.5!. Quickly, the nurses gave him oxygen mask. And slowly he starts to get more conscious. He was admitted for test and observation. Doc need to find out if its fever fit or more issues is causing him to have fits. Dr Ong was on leave so we had to switch to Dr Chan. Dr Chan had to take 2 small tubes of blood from Ryan for test. My poor little baby, just 13mth + old and he has to go through this! Hope Ryan will get well soon and that it will not happen again. It is a frightening experiences for all of us. Geraldine had it once when she was 3+ (and that time I was just pregnant with Ryan), just that we never expect Ryan will have it too!

Lion Dance at NTUC. Geraldine and Ryan were so excited!Ryan didn't want to leave and his hands keeps beating to the lion dance beat! So cute... I was worried it might be too loud for him.

The whole event lasted almost 45 mins.

The Big Head Doll was so nice, he gave Geraldine and Ryan lots of sweets that he was handling out to the crowd for good luck! He sure makes Geraldine very happy!!!

My little boy will be 1 years old in another 2 weeks!! Time really flies so fast.!!
1) Ryan's favorite show is still Barney, but now added Dora, Hi-5 and latest popeye since Geraldine started watching popeye.
2) When Ryan sees Barney 'Brushing Teeth' song playing on TV, he will pick up his 2nd finger and pretend to brush his teeth! So cute!! We find that he is very good at imitating.
3) He will sing in his own baby language when Barbie Island Princess movie song starts to play. We were surprise and he does follow the rhythem too!
4) Every night before he sleeps, he will take his little blanket and starts playing pee-a-boo with us!
5) He loves too eat. Even after finishing his porridge, he will still want to munch on our rice and fish!
6) He calls papa more than he does ma ma.
7) He has gotten more demanding and will fight with Geraldine over my ipad.
8) Everytime when he sees Geraldine in her uniform or dressed up to go out, he knows we are going out and start making nosies with his whole body stretch out towards the door.

Teacher commented that her level of maturity is still not there as compared to her friends as she is the youngest in her class. Her social skills have improve alot and she is not afraid to speak up in front of her class. What Teacher Mary like about her is that she can defend herself when she finds she is right in her action and does not agree with her friends blindly.
Her learning/language skills are great except for her chinese which need a lot of improvement. It is all Mummy and Daddy's fault since we always speak to her in English and not Mandarin. We ahve to be conscious now and speak more to her in Mandarin.

At 10 mths and 18 days old, Ryan still doesn't like eating fruits. His favorite movie is still Barbie Island Princess and latest he love watching Hi-5. He is drinking more milk now, at times he can finish 180ml. When he wants to eat, he will call out 'mum mum' now. He likes eating bread, avocado, baby biscuits and munching on rice and fish. He love playing with balls and he can actually catch the ball using his 2 feet. Pa was saying he will be a footballer next time....haha

Supposed to bring the kids to the Zoo todat but it has been raining since early morning. So we decide to bring them to Singkids - T3. Here my handsome boy, so exicted to go out since he had been home for the last week.

Singkids - T3, one of Geraldine's classmates held his birthday party here last mth. And she is so excited we are bringing her again.

Poor Ryan can only look from the outside while Jiejie is having so much fun. I checked with the counter staff if I can bring Ryan in just to see Geraldine play and he say baby below 1 years old can go in for free.

It's KaKa Siti's birthday today!! Geraldine is really excited as she will be decorating her KaKa's birthday cake today together with her KaKa.

Words Geraldine can spell

Daddy was feeding Geraldine some dragon fruits and Geraldine ask Daddy how to spell dragon fruit. Daddy first taught her how to spell dragon and and spell it to her 3 times. After that, we were surprised she was able to spell dragon all by herself and she still remembers it. Previously, we need to remind her a couple of times before she picks it up.

Geraldine can spell her own full name 'Geraldine Lok Hui En, mat, cat, dog, one, two, draw and duck. She loves writing, every night she will sit at her pink desk and work on her worksheets and drawings. She is always asking us how to spell certain words that she is currently interested in.

Geraldine's school is teaching the CVC (consonant-vowel-consonant) words and new words that she can now read (not looking at pictures),'tap, map, lap, cap, nap, gap, cat, hat, mat, bat, sat, bag, wag, jag, rag and hag.

8mth and 5 days - first word

This morning Ryan said his first word 'Kaka' while looking at his Kaka Siti. I thought I heard him wrong and then he said it a couple of time looking at his KaKa!
After that in the evening, he looked at Geraldine and calls her 'Jie Jie'!! Surprised he can picks up so fast at 8mths and 5 days old. He sure is a talkative little boy so different from Geraldine who is a quiet baby and loves long naps. While Ryan is very noisy and catches short naps.

Ryan's top front tooth are out. He look so cute and mischievous with his new teeth.
He is eating porridge now with pork, pumpkins, carrots, potatoes and lily.
For fruits, we tried out apples, golden kiwi, avocado and papaya. He still prefers avocado just like Geraldine.
He can sit by himself without support. He love balls , can sit and play with mummy for 1/2 hour until Mummy gets bored and gave him another toy.

Ryan likes watching this ABC songs when he was 3 and 1/2 mths old. He will sit up , smile and try to catch them. When he gets older, every time he hears this song, he will jump up and down non stop.

This is his favorite Barney espiode - Singing Circus. He has been watching the same disc when he was 4+ mths old till today still watching the same disc everyday.

My little boy will be 6mths old in a couple of days. His first try of cereals, don't really like the texture in his mouth. He is paying full attention to the Barney show playing on the TV. Ryan is very like Geraldine, loves watching Barney. he has been watching the same disc for the past 1 month every morning.

It has been almost half a year since Geraldine went into the pool coz she has been falling sick and coughing for a couple of months. Her first try with the life jacket.

While this is Ryan's first time to the swimming pool and getting his feet wet. He is enjoying the feeling.

Festive stay day 2

Lunch at Ramen Play, nice and yummy Ramen. Hard Rock Hotel swimming pool. We checked out at 9+am as Ryan was not able to sleep well and kept waking up last night so everyone decide to go home early so we can all get some sleep at night. Too bad we didn't get to go to Hollywood walk as there was a slight drizzle...next time we will bring the kids again when Ryan is older.

Taught Geraldine to spell 'Apple' last night and she can remeber it today. Will try to teach her one new word every night. Geraldine loves to practice writting of the alphabets, numbers and also drawings. She can writ pretty well now. Her Teacher says she is a very very patience gal and always complete her work before starting something new.

Finally, her hair is long enough to be tied up. Geraldine is a pretty well behave gal, she doesn't give us any trouble, only thing is she tears quite easily. Maybe we have been too protective of her and she is pretty sticky to us...which in a way is good. Hopefully, when she grows up she will be closer to us because of our strong bond.

Ryan is more talkative and now he prefer to sit up and look at his surrounding. He wants to be carried more offen now and when he sees us, he is always smiling. He really loves to smile, every time I look at him, he is always smiling at me...Geraldine never smile so much before.

I was worried that Ryan might not remember me when he sees me. Reached home around 7am and when my precious Ryan saw me he was smiling. He remembers me! Dropped by Primm Valley outlet for breakfast, got a Guess sweater here for only u$19. Good deal!

The rest of the gang went to Irvine Spectrum for another round of shopping but I decided to rest in the hotel as I'm having backache and aching arms from shopping yesterday.

We met at the hotel lobby at 6am to start off early to Las Vegas so we can shop at 2 of the factory outlets. YC and Evelyn will be our driver. First stop Primm Valley Outlet....happy shopping....

Rest Stop, really windy and cold here, we were all shivering.
